Indiana has played host to several daily and weekly newspapers since its founding, with the first being the Indiana Gazette, which was founded in 1804 (but closed just two years later after its offices were destroyed in a fire).

    Published in South Bend by Gannett, the Tribune serves South Bend, Mishawaka, north central Indiana and southwestern Michigan. It was founded in 1872.

    Founded in 1845 as the Evansville Courier, the Courier & Press is published by Gannett and based in Evansville.
  • 4. The Journal & Courier
    Published in Lafayette by Gannett, the Journal & Courier was founded in 1920 and serves Lafayette and the surrounding communities.
  • 5. The Journal Gazette
    The Journal Gazette is based in Fort Wayne and was founded in 1863 as The Fort Wayne Gazette.
  • 6. The Times of Northwest Indiana
    Also known as “NWI”, the Times is published in Munster and was founded in 1906 as The Lake County Times.
  • 7. The Star Press
    Published in Muncie by Gannett, the Star Press gets its name from a merger between The Muncie Evening Press and The Muncie Morning Star.
  • 8. The Herald-Times
    Serving Bloomington and surrounding areas, The Herald-Times was founded in 1877 and is published by Gannett.
  • 9. The Kokomo Tribune
    Founded in 1850 as the Howard Tribune, the Tribune serves Kokomo and surrounding areas.
  • 10. The Herald Bulletin
    Serving Anderson and northeast Indianapolis, the Herald Bulletin is published by Community Newspaper Holdings and was founded in 1868.
