The Top 10 Utah Newspapers by Circulation
The first newspaper ever published in Utah, the Deseret News, appeared in June 1850. According to local historians it only operated for a year before suspending operations due to lack of paper – but it was back in business several months later, and is still published in Salt Lake City as a daily to this day.

The Salt Lake Tribune is relatively unique in that it is a non-profit newspaper. It was founded in 1870 and won a Pulitzer Prize in 2017.
2. Deseret News
Founded in 1850, Deseret News is published in Salt Lake City by Deseret News Publishing Co., a holding company of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
3. Salt Lake City Weekly
The Weekly is a free weekly newspaper published in Salt Lake City, and was founded in 1984.
4. West Valley Journal
The West Valley Journal covers the West Valley City area of Salt Lake County on a weekly basis.
5. Sandy Journal
Sandy Journal is a weekly newspaper published in Sandy, Utah by City Journal Newspapers.
The Standard-Examiner is a daily published in Ogden by Sandusky Newspapers. It was founded in 1888.
7. West Jordan Journal
The West Jordan Journal covers the city of West Jordan and is published by The Valley Journals.
8. The Spectrum
A daily newspaper based in St. George and published by Gannett Co.
9. Daily Herald
A daily that mostly covers the Provo-Orem metro area in the Utah Valley, and is published by Ogden Newspapers.
10. The Herald Journal
A daily newspaper published in Logan, serving Cache Valley and published five days a week.
